Thinking of printing the battlestar galactica

Re: Thinking of printing the battlestar galactica
OK, that's not so bad. The designer has done the hard work for you and along with the whole .stl has provided .stls for the sections. It also looks like attention has been given to designing it ot be printable in the first place*. Therefore my pessimism is less justified (but you still need to try simple things first).
All you have to do is import each section into your slicer, scale it to the size you want (obviously all the parts need to be to the same scale, so make sure the biggest part fits at that scale), and print. I recommend you choose a scale where the largest part still fits within your print volume and be satisfied with that, even if it's a little smaller than you wanted. The maximum use of your build plate will be if you align the part diagonally.
You can probably print more than one part at a time by arranging multiple parts on the build plate, but I don't recommend that. It won't save much time overall, and by printing multiple parts in one go, if one part fails all the parts fail.
It will be great to see how this turns out, please keep us updated (and see here for how to post photos).
* Somebody came on here once, asking why a (paid for) downloaded model of the Eiffel Tower wouldn't print, as they had been assured it would. No way would it print, even with SLA – the detail was too fine.
