Swedish Supplier

Post by ThatsColdz »

Anyone tried the filament at https://dwdev.se/
I just started to print, all filaments out there seems so expensive. You believe this filament will work?

I've split your post into a new thread, because it has little to do with the thread you originally posted in.

The direct link to the English language version of that site is here: https://dwdev.se/en.

Filament is filament. It is required to have a consistent diameter (usually 1.75mm), and all suppliers specify the accuracy of their draw, but you don't need it super-accurate except for critical applications. The only other factor is the formulation of the material, but pretty much PLA is PLA (or ABS is ABS) with the only variation being purity and pigment. Basically you won't know until you try it.

130 SEK for 1kg PLA seems like a good price (~10 GBP, I'm most familiar with PLA prices), but I can't find anything about delivery charges (except that you can pick up for free), and actually they don't seem to have any stock at all ready for immediate dispatch, so I suspect this is a new start-up. It might be an option if you live locally, and can wait!

I expect to pay 16-20 GBP for 1kg of PLA by shopping around (delivered – try eBay). If you want to stick to a tried and trusted brand then expect to pay more. Yes it is a significant outlay when you might want only 50g of a particular colour, so I stick to a restricted range of colours if I can, or if only a very small amount is needed see 3D Pen Filament.

Sometimes 500g or 250g reels are available, but at a greater cost per kg and of course delivery will be factored into the cost even if it's "free delivery".

A possible solution to the outlay is to join a local club (or have a group of mates with printers) and split a 1kg reel between you.

Another supplier in Sweden (probably many of you have heard of it already, though), is also:

https://www.3dprima.com/

I've ordered from them once, but it was a big one and hence I got shipping for free. They have a good price on PLA I mostly use, Copymaster, although for the rest I'm not sure the prices are that competetive.
