Eaglemoss V3 Printer

Post by nath042 »

Hey all, Im using the Eaglemoss V3 3d Printer, I think its a very good printer, i had to build it myself from scratch which i do in a video series on youtube, if you would like to see that its linked here (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... Tb57Skv-hH)

Honest Review
Build Quality
From the 3D printer I have seen a fairly good build quality, very sturdy and very nice, I did have a slight issue with one of the limit switches however I was able to bend it out so that it did click when it should have, I think that some of the issues (magazine issues that is) were backwards, meaning you needed to build a part, to take it apart later, but I can understand that you cant put too much into one magazine due to cost, ETC. I do however, think that it could have been done better.

Customer Service
Customer service was mostly good, up until the last few weeks I did not have any issues with them, however maybe due to my own fault (I blame my bank) when one of my payments came out, i forgot to update my PayPal with my new card details (wanted a contactless card, so new numbers), this delayed my payment and ultimately meant that when I was supposed to get the issue it was out of stock. I wouldn't have minded if it was just for a few weeks, however it was for about 3 months, grinding my videos to a halt and near killing my viewership on the channel for a while, but now I'm inundated with magazines and catch up material, I'm doing two a week. With only 2 months left to go until it is FULLY completed. I'm happy that the issues have been resolved (believe me I did call them regularly).

Worth It?
Yes Id say so, I received a lot of "free models" (most of which are from thingiverse now) which are listed on the website for download, I like this, id be happy if i can download the full pack as a ZIP file.

Summary
To summarise, I like the printer, the build quality is good, fairly strong metal and I am enjoying my time printing now! Very fun and a good beginner printer!

Thanks for your contribution, looks like you have quite an extensive Youtube guide.

That really sucks. But if you want to build your own it is not too difficult. We wrote a series of blog articles on our experience of building a 3D printer. Now, it is not a step by step guide, the technical details for specific 3D printer models are readily available, it goes into the process and some of the issues we faced. Part 2 on buying the parts is quite a good appraisal of all the parts involved in building a 3D printer but this varies from model to model.
