Hi,
I have just purchased my first 3d printer which is a CTC A8 Prusa clone (the eBay 2018 variant without power switch).
They supply cura software with the printer but unfortunately this will not work on my laptop, and neither will the downloaded software directly from Cura so I have downloaded Repetier to be my software as I had read some users said it is ideal for reprap printers. I cannot get the printer to act upon commands from the software although the software is able to see the printer. Can anyone recommend some simple slicer software to get me started or possibly help me setup the settings in some software please?

You could check the Baudrate settings in Repetier
